Simply an Amazing Place

Maci & Peyton’s Story

Just 6 months into my first pregnancy, I was urgently flown to U.C. Davis Medical Center because it was apparent that our very premature twins were going to be greeting us early. Only a day and a half later, our beautiful twin girls were born at 25 weeks on September 2nd, 2012. Their birth weights were a tiny 1 lb., 7 oz. and 1 lb., 11 oz. As you can imagine, our world was flipped upside down.

Our home was a long six hour drive away and we had no idea what was in store for our family. The Ronald McDonald House offered us a room by the time I was released from the hospital three days later. I can still feel the overwhelming peace it brought me when we first arrived. It is a simply amazing place. Our daughters needed many things, but the thing they needed most was our love & time. RMHCNC gave us exactly that. We could stay with them, love them and give them the time they needed to learn how to breathe, eat and grow.

They were released from the N.I.C.U. five months later and Ronald McDonald House let us stay the entire time! We will be forever grateful for the comfy rooms, friendly faces & unbelievable generosity! Our girls are turning three years-old this September 2015 and doing amazing! They run, talk and play just like any other Three year-old.

We still have to travel to Sacramento about every three months for our daughter Peyton’s Specialty GI appointments and RMHCNC is always there for us! It’s almost like we are visiting family now.
