We Are So Thankful for RMHC

Lavrador Family Story

When we were leaving our country, we didn’t imagine we would have so much help and love.

We left Africa to look for a safe place to have our babies, because our doctors advised us not to have them in my province. I decided to go to my brother’s house in Chico, CA, but I was sent to the high risk maternity ward. I was going to have my triplets a lot earlier than expected. All three of my girls arrived at 29 weeks. My beautiful daughters were all born weighing under two pounds each. They all had to stay at the Sutter Children’s Center NICU.

I began wondering were I would be able to stay close to my babies. I was praying that I could find a veranda or a corridor to sleep since I didn’t have transportation to go back and forth to Chico. I needed to stay close to my daughters to make sure they continued to grow and get healthier.

I was then introduced to the Sacramento Ronald McDonald House where I was able to stay for three months. It was awesome! They helped me stay close to my babies and even provided transportation to go see them at the hospital every day. We are so much thankful to Ronald McDonald House Charities for the help.
