Sacramento Ronald McDonald House

Lifting children and their families to a better tomorrow.

Group Volunteer Projects

Snack Drive

Our families often spend the day at the hospital without eating until they get back to the Sacramento Ronald McDonald House because money is in short supply. We keep a basket in the office of individually wrapped snacks such as cookies, cheese and crackers and candy so that families can put them in their pockets and take them to the hospital.

Bath-Time Drive

When a child is brought in by ambulance or life flight the last thing you’re thinking about is a toothbrush or deodorant. We need the following items all the time: toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, combs, brushes, razors, shampoo, hairdryers, etc.

Ronald McDonald House Carnival

Sponsor a booth at our annual carnival for the children of the Sacramento Ronald McDonald House and our local neighborhood. Provide game, prizes, volunteers, set up and tear down for your booth or activity. This event takes place every October.

Paper Product Drive

Washing dishes is just one more thing to do that our parents often don’t have the time or energy to manage. We like to keep paper plates, bowls and cups, and plastic forks and spoons on hand to make their lives a little easier when they are on the run. Ziplock baggies and throw away containers are also popular and much needed.

Egg Hunt

Every Spring, we have an Egg Hunt and need plastic eggs filled with toys and candy to hide for the children of the Sacramento Ronald McDonald House and the local neighborhood children.

Spanish DVDs

About 35% of our families are Spanish speaking. We would love to have programs for children and their parents to watch in Spanish.
