The first Saturday in December from 1-4 PM, the Sacramento Ronald McDonald House hosts an afternoon of fun for families staying at the House and the community. There will also be tours for those who would like to learn more about the House.
Ronald McDonald greets the Napa Solano Harley Owner's Group as they ride in on their Harleys which are loaded down with toys. These toys are passed out to children all year long. Santa Claus disembarks from his motorcycle side car with a jolly greeting to all. Activities vary from year to year as they are all donated. Pony rides, a petting zoo, arts and crafts, bounce house, games, live entertainment, a DJ, and Christmas Carolers are just some of the previous activities. Groups come together to help make this event such a grand success. In 2007, these are a few who contributed.
Everything above is donated and free to all who attend. We also host a Gift Shop of new items that have been donated by local businesses. Items are discounted 75-85%. Profits are put into our Adopt-A-Family Program to off-set the stays of families who cannot afford to pay the nominal fee we request. Santa Claus and Ronald McDonald pass out goodies to children (of all ages). Many organizations join the Napa Solano Harley Owner's Group in the Toy Run and bring toys into our Toy Drop Off Room. Annually, about 1,000 toys are collected for distribution throughout the year. |
