Providing families with emotional and physical comfort and support

Riley’s Story

We are so incredibly thankful to the wonderful people who run Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern California.

Our little Riley was born March 16th, 2006 with what doctors at the hospital thought was a rapid breathing disorder called Transient Tracheypila of the Newborn. It was supposed to clear up in 36 to 72 hours. When that did not happen, the pediatrician insisted we come to U.C. Davis to get a more sophisticated assessment with better equipment. Ever since we arrived, he has gotten better every day. We hope he will be well enough to go home tomorrow. He is our first baby and we have waited a long time for such an amazing little guy!

To say the least, this was the most stressful rollercoaster any of us have been on.

The most comforting thing (besides him getting healthy) was to have a comfortable, clean, beautiful place to come home to and rest. I believe it helped in my recovery from childbirth, which in turned help Riley.

We are so blessed and realize there are many other families with greater needs than ours, but God is so faithful to all of his children and we pray that others will find peace here at RMHCNC as well. God bless!
