Love Is The Same In All Languages

Eduardo and Martin’s Story

In 2006, there was a fire at my children’s grandparents’ house and they almost lost their lives. At the time of the fire they were in a room watching TV. They were unable to escape this room and I wasn’t able to help them because the fire has already surrounded me. My brother-in-law acted quickly by breaking a window and removed them just in time. They were taken to the nearby hospital but despite being in the best city, they were unable to do anything for them. The hospital did not have the equipment for severe burns. I thank God that they were transferred to Shriners Hospital in Sacramento California, where they were attended to by the emergency staff and saved. I was admitted to a local hospital for 3 months and had to wait to recover so that I could travel to see them. Since arriving, The Ronald McDonald House has provided us with many amenities that we don’t have in my country. They allowed me to stay for several months while my children recovered and to this day every time we have to come for an appointment we stay at the House. We are so very grateful for all of the support and warmth that they provide us. I sincerely thank you.
